On the 18th of March 2019 The Mayor Giorgio Gori ufficially signed the Paris Declaration and enrolled Bergamo among the Fast Track Cities.
The Comune di Bergamo, leading this initiative has formally gathered all public and private entities that have been active for years in the fight against HIV/AIDS on our territory.
Members of Bergamo Fast Track City are the ATS Bergamo, the ASST Papa Giovanni XXIII and considering the provincial dimension of the project the Consiglio di Rappresentanza dei Sindaci.
All the association of the Third sector that in different way are involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS and in helping vulnerable populations adhered, too. Associazione Comunità Emmaus, Caritas Diocesana Bergamasca, Cooperativa L’impronta, Cooperativa Pugno Aperto, A.L.T. that manage hospices for PLWHIV present in the area, promote listening spaces an self-help groups for PLWHIV and develop activities of sensitization, information and formation in schools. Associazione Melarancia and the Associazione Micaela, dealing with the world of prostitution. Arcigay Bergamo Cives working on spreading rapid-test access in aggregation and entertainment sites and active on prevention projects. The Croce Rossa Italiana - Comitato di Bergamo with the MTT project aiming to meet, inform, and eventually lead to care the most weak groups of population (sex workers, IVDU persons, homeless, and migrants) that have more difficulties to have access to institutional testing for HIV and HCV. The Cooperativa di Bessimo dealing with the world of drug dependency and working on harm reduction projects. A collaborative relationship is, finally, active with the Ufficio Scolastico Territoriale di Bergamo.
